With the summer holidays just around the corner, you might be wondering how you’re going to keep the little ones entertained. Well, help is at hand! We’ve done the hard work for you, and pulled together a pretty comprehensive listing of the holiday camps and workshops that are going on in the area. Although we can’t say that we’ve tried all these out personally, they come on recommendation and your kids are sure to have a lot of fun! Best Tennis

For children aged 3 to 14 years.

These camps take place at Old Deer Park, Twickenham Road in Richmond, and at Hampton Sports Centre, Hanworth Road in Hampton. They offer fun packed tennis camps with a combination of technical learning, matchplay and games.

The camps take place between 16th July – 24th August, from 9.00am-3.00pm with half day options available (5-14yrs) or from 11.30am-12.15pm (3-5yrs). The daily cost is £60.00 for a full day or £35.00 for a half day (5-14yrs) or £12.00-£15.00 (3-5yrs), which discounts available for booking multiple days. You can book via their website.

 

Brentford FC Community Sports Trust

For children aged 5 to 12 years.

These Brentford FC soccer schools are held at GOALS Soccer Centre, MacFarlane Lane in Isleworth. They offer fun and technical football sessions during the holiday period. Along with developing your child’s technical skills, they will also improve their social skills in a safe and fun environment!

The soccer schools take place three days a week between 25th July – 24th August from 10.00am-4.00pm. The cost is £20.00 per day if booking in advance, with a discount available for booking multiple days. Alternatively, you can pay £25.00 on the day (subject to availability). Camp Beaumont 

For children from 4 to 16 years old.

These camps take place at Christ’s School, Queen’s Road in Richmond. They offer the highest standards of care and peace of mind that children will have the time of their life, trying new activities and making new friends.

The camps take place weekdays between 23rd July – 24th August. The daily cost is £43.00, with a discount available for booking three days or more. You can book via their website.

 

Dramacube Productions

For children aged 7 to 14 years.

These three-day ‘Moana’ workshops take place at The Exchange Theatre, London Road in Twickenham, and at St Mary’s University, Waldegrave Road in Twickenham. Children will journey to Motunui as they embark on a musical theatre adventure inspired by Disney’s Academy Award nominated musical, Moana. They will participate in acting, singing and dance as they build towards a performance under the lights on day three – free for family and friends to enjoy.

The workshops take place between 25th – 27th July and 15th – 17th August, from 9.30am-4.00pm. The cost is £110.00 for all three days. You can book online.

 

Dreamcatcher Film Camps

For children aged 8 to 18 years.

These five-day camps take place at The Falcons Prep School, Kew Foot Road in Richmond. Children come up with their own idea for a film, then set about scripting, story boarding, shooting, directing and editing it over five days under expert tuition from industry professionals. It’s all great fun but good learning too and young wannabee filmmakers finish the course equipped to make their own movies.

The camps takes place between 9th July – 17th August, from 9.00am-2.00pm. The cost for all five days is £275.00, with a sibling discount available. You can book online.

 

Excel Sports

For children aged 4 to 12 years.

These camps take place at Kings House Sports Ground, Riverside Drive in Chiswick (just the other side of Chiswick Bridge). Children enjoy a camp experience that is fun, engaging, inclusive and safe with highly stimulating activities delivered by positive and inspiring coaches. Multi-sport camps include tennis, football, netball, hockey, cricket, rounders, athletics, dodgeball and more. New for 2018, children can opt for netball-only or football-only camps if they prefer.

The camps take place between 9th July – 31st August, from 9.00am-3.00pm with half day options available from 9.00-11.30am or 12.30-3.00pm. The daily cost is £35.00 with a discount available for booking the whole week; half-days cost £18.00. You can book online.

 

Fit For Sport

For children aged 4 to 12 years.

These camps takes place at Barnes Primary School, Cross Street in Barnes, and at Sheen Mount Primary School in West Temple Sheen. They are a great way for children to keep active, have fun, make new friends, try something new and take part in a whole range of activities and sports.

The camps take place between 23rd July – 31st August from 9.30am-4.30pm with the option to extend from 8.30am-5.30pm (East Sheen) or 8.00am-6.00pm (Barnes), with a half day option for younger children from 9.30am-1.00pm. The basic daily cost is £30.60-£36.25 (£22.95-£27.20 £18.75-£24.00 for a half-day), depending on location. You can book via their website.

 

Fulham FC Soccer Schools

For children aged 3 to 14 years.

These camps take place at Bishops Park in Fulham, at Motspur Park in New Malden, and at Battersea Ironsides Sports Club in Earlsfield. Learn to play the Fulham way! Your child will play tons of football, learn new skills and make lots of new friends. Children are grouped based on their age and ability, so you can be sure they’ll have a great time.

The camps take place between 9th July – 31st August, from 9.00am-3.00pm (5-14yrs) or 9.00-11.00am (3-5yrs). The cost is £21.00-£23.00 per day (5-14yrs) or £16.00-£17.00 per day (3-5yrs) depending on location, with a discount available for booking a whole week. You can book online.

 

Fun Tech

For children aged 7 to 15 years.

These five-day camps take place at Kings House School, Kings Road in Richmond. Children will enjoy fun, creative and cutting-edge coding and tech camps designed to teach, engage and inspire the next generation of progressive coders, innovative engineers and pioneering game designers! There are a range of camps on offer, including Minecraft With Mods, 3D Game Design, Java Coder, Scratch With Ozobot, and more.

The camps take place between 16th July – 24th August, from 9.00am-5.00pm. The camps cost between £545.00-£575.00, depending on the course. You can book online.

 

Gordon Gibbins Tennis Camp

For children aged 4 to 14+ years.

These camps take place at Marble Hill Park in Twickenham, with Gordon Gibbins who is the LTA registered coach there. They’re a great way for children to brush up on their tennis skills whilst having fun too. The first four days of the week are camps focusing on skills and technique, whereas Fridays are ‘matchplay’ camps.

The camps take place between 20th July – 24th August, at various times between 11.00am-6.30pm, and last for 1.5-2 hours (depending on age and type of session). The cost is £75.00-£90.00 per week, depending on the length of the sessions. Please email Gordon for more information or to book.

 

Kidscoach

For children in Reception to Year 8.

These camps take place at Marble Hill Park in Twickenham. They are the perfect way for children to get out into the fresh air for some football fun, and will take place whatever the weather (dress the kids accordingly!). The sessions are split according to age, with lots of match time and skill-based games and drills.

KOOSA Kids

For children aged 4 to 13 years.

These camps take place at Orleans Park School, Richmond Road in Twickenham; Teddington Sports Centre, Broom Road in Teddington; Whitton Sports Centre, Percy Road in Whitton; and Shene Sports Centre, Park Avenue in East Sheen. Children take part in up to nine structured activities each day, four each from each of the Discovery Zone (games, activities and inspiring equipment designed to get your child up and active) & Endeavour Zone (arts & crafts, dance, drama, the natural world and exploration activities) and an organised free play session after lunch. Activities last 30 minutes each, with plenty of breaks throughout the day.

The camps take place weekdays between 23rd July – 31st August, from 10.00am-4.00pm, with the option to extend from 8.15am-6.00pm. The basic daily cost is £21.00, with a discount available for booking a whole week. If you have three children, the 3rd child goes absolutely free! The Little Gym Chiswick

For children aged 3 to 12 years.

These camps take place at The Little Gym, Hartington Road in Chiswick (just by Chiswick Bridge). With special themed activities that change every camp, the adventure is new and fun every camp the children attend.  There are ‘Super Quest’ camps for children aged 3-8yrs and ‘Skill Thrill’ camps for children aged 5-12yrs, as well as dance camps (3-12yrs) and karate camps (4-8yrs).

The camps take place between 16th July – 31st August, from 9.30am-12.30pm or 1.30-4.30pm, or children can stay for the whole day (includes lunch). Little Voices

For children aged 4 to 16 years.

This theatre week takes place at Christ’s School, Queens Road in Richmond. Children will be singing, acting and dancing their way through ‘Matilda’, learning an entire script in four days, and devising props and costumes in preparation for a big show at the end of the week. They’ll also make lots of new friends along the way!

Mother Nature Science

For children aged 5 to 12 years old.

These camps take place at The Queens School, Cumberland Road in Kew. They are the ultimate holiday mix of education, fun and indoor and outdoor hands-on science experiments and activities!

The camps take place between 23rd July – 24th August, from 9.00am-3.30pm, with the option to extend from 8.30am-4.00pm. The basic daily cost is £60.00, with a discount available for booking a whole week (limited availability for daily places). You can book online or by calling 020 8863 8832.

 

NS Sports

For children aged 4 to 11 years.

These camps take place at East Sheen Primary School, Upper Richmond Road West in East Sheen, and at Meadlands Primary School, Broughton Avenue in Ham. Children can choose form a multi-activity camp including two sports sessions, an outdoor events session, arts and crafts, indoor and a free choice play session; or a football-only camp.

The camps take place weekdays between 23rd July – 31st August, from 9.45am-4.15pm, with the option to extend from 8.00am-6.00pm. The basic daily cost is £24.00, with a discount available for booking a whole week. You can book online.

 

Orleans House Gallery

For children aged 4 to 15 years.

These workshops take place at Orleans House Gallery, Riverside in Twickenham. Children will enjoy a range of exciting half, full and multi-day creative workshops, inspired by the beauty and nature of the gallery grounds. They will learn, explore and create while playing with a variety of techniques, including 3D construction, printing and textiles.

The workshops take place on selected days between 30th July – 15th August, with full/multi day workshops from 10.00am-3.00pm and half day workshops from 2.00-4.00pm. The cost for a full day workshop is £32.00 and a half day workshop is £14.00. You can book online.

 

Playball

For children aged 3 to 8 years.

These camps take place at Pools On The Park, Twickenham Road in Richmond, at Stanley Primary School, Strathmore Road in Teddington, and at Tiffin Girls School, Richmond Road in Kingston. They are filled with fantastic sports games, skills and drills, including wildly creative warm ups, sport skill sessions, team building activities and games.

The camps take place on various dates between 23rd July – 31st August depending on location, from 10.00am-1.00pm. The daily cost is £22.50-£25.00, also depending on location. You can book online.

 

Sheen Parks Tennis

For children aged 3 to 16 years.

These camps take place at Sheen Common and Palewell Common in East Sheen, and at Cambridge Gardens, Clevedon Road in East Twickenham. These fun packed holiday camps are for children of all abilities to help develop essential tennis skills.

The camps take place weekdays between 9th July – 24th August, with different timings depending on age. Tots camps (3/4yrs) are 30 minutes long, whereas camps for older children are 2-3 hours for half a day or 6 hours for a full day. Tots camps cost £9.25 per day and the longer camps cost £22.00-£33.00 for a half day or £66.00 for a full day, with a discount available for booking the whole week. You can book online.

 

Step On Stage

For children aged 4 to 18 years.

These summer schools take place at the Hampton Hill Theatre, High Street in Hampton Hill, and at The Exchange Arts Centre, London Road in Twickenham. Daily workshops will explore the fundamental skills which help develop students as performers as well as teaching valuable life skills. Whether they are hoping to pursue a career in the arts or simply enjoy performing as a hobby, these workshops are suitable for all.

The summer schools take place between 30th July – 4th August, from 9.30am-4.00pm (5-18yrs), between 31st July – 2nd August, from 9.30am-12.30pm (4-7yrs), and between 6th – 10th August, from 9.30am-3.30pm (5-16yrs: dance) or 9.30am-4.00pm (9-18yrs: acting). Thames Young Mariners Adventure Zone

For children from 5 to 16 years.

These camps take place at Thames Young Mariners, Riverside Drive in Ham. There are Little Foxes camps for 5-7yrs (1 day) focussing on forest school activities; Young Explorers camps for 6/7yrs (1 day) focussing on different team challenges through the week, and Multi-Activity Adventures for 8-11yrs and 11-16yrs (2 or 3 days), with activities such as archery, kayaking climbing, raft building, team tasks and woodland skills. There are also Sailing and Paddling courses for 8-16yrs (4 or 5 days).

The camps take place between 19th – 31st August, from 9.30am-4.30pm with the option to extend from 8.00am-4.30pm. The cost is £45.00 per day for most camps, or £52.00-£55.00 per day for sailing/paddling courses. You can book online.

 

Tree House Learning

For children aged 3 to 7+ years.

These camps take place at Ham Common Woods. Workshops are planned based on the age and experience of the children enrolled. Activities range from eco art to bushcraft skills to group games – something for everyone! There are one-day and three-day camps available.

The camps take place on various dates between 31st July – 21st August, from 10.00am-3.00pm. The one-day camps cost £35.00 and the three-day camps cost £100.00.  You can book online.

 

White Rabbit Drama Club

For children aged 5 to 9 years.

These three-day workshops take place at St Mary’s Church Hall, Church Street in Twickenham. Children will enjoy fun games, improvisation and inventive crafts. They will experiment with a diverse range of drama techniques, make new friends and boost confidence in a safe and supportive environment. Week 1 is ‘Gods and Goddesses of Greece’ and Week 2 is ‘Comedy Club’.

Wild Education

For children aged 5 to 11 years.

These three-day camps takes place in the woods near Barn Elms Sports Trust, Queen Elizabeth Walk in Barnes, and in the woods of Orleans House Gallery, Riverside in Twickenham. Children will have a ‘wild’ time having fun, making new friends, learning life skills and being out in the fresh air getting muddy!

The camp takes place between 30th July – 1st August (Barnes) and 6th – 8th August (Twickenham), from 10.00am-2.00pm. The cost is £90.00 for three days. You can book via their website.

 

Wild Learning

For children aged 5 to 11 years.

These camps takes place on Sheen Common in East Sheen. Find your way through the woods to the base camp, maybe stopping on the way to play hide and seek in the oak clearing, or Ninja Frisbee on the meadow before den building, rope swinging or crafts at main camp.

The camps take place between 30th July – 21st August, from 10.00am-4.00pm. The daily cost is £45.00. You can book via their website.

 

YMCA Hawker Wild Play Days

For children aged 4 to 11 years.

These wild play days take place at YMCA Hawker, Lower Ham Road (junction with Richmond Road) in Kingston. Children will enjoy exploring woods, building shelters, discovering nature, creating woodland art and breathing Mother Nature’s good stuff. If your child loves jumping in puddles, climbing trees and is naturally curious, then this is the camp for them. Wednesdays are trip days, where children will enjoy an adventure further afield to explore and create forest-themed play in a different location each week.

The wild play days take place Mondays-Thursdays between 23rd July – 30th August, from 8.30am-4.30pm with the option to extend to 6.00pm. The basic daily cost is £30.00. You can book by calling 020 8296 9747.

 

York House Gardens Tennis

For children aged 3 to 14 years.

These camps take place at York House Gardens, Sion Road in Twickenham. Children will take part in various games and training to improve their agility, balance and coordination. Older age groups begin to focus more on shots, technique and tactics using game play and competition (suitable for all abilities).

The camps take place on weekdays between 23rd July – 31st August, with different time slots for different age groups: 3-4yrs 9.30-10.00am; 5-8yrs 10.00am-12.00pm; 9-14yrs 1.00-3.00pm. The cost is £42.50 per week (3-4yrs) or £110.00 per week (5-14yrs). You can book online.
